The Role

Join our growing team as a Management Accountant and play a key role in delivering outsourced CFO and commercial advisory services to a portfolio of successful privately owned businesses.

Working closely with our Managing Director, you will support clients across the mining, civil construction and labour hire sectors, with annual turnover ranging from $20 million to $150 million. This role offers hands-on exposure to strategic financial management, business performance analysis and CFO-level decision-making across a diverse client base.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious accountant looking to accelerate their career beyond a traditional single-business finance role. You'll gain broad commercial experience, work directly with business owners and senior stakeholders, and develop the skills required to progress into a CFO or senior advisory position within our team.

In addition to client-facing responsibilities, you will contribute to the mentoring, training and development of junior team members and help foster a collaborative, high-performing culture.

Based in our Hamilton office, the role offers flexible working arrangements, including full-time or part-time hours and the ability to split your time between home and the office

Key Responsibilities

The scope of work varies across clients and typically includes some or all of the following:

· Preparing and maintaining cash flow forecasts and integrated 3-way financial models

· Managing the month-end reporting process, including preparation and review of journals, reconciliations and supporting schedules

· Preparing and maintaining accurate monthly management accounts

· Preparing monthly management reports, board packs and financial performance dashboards

· Providing financial analysis and decision-support to business owners and senior leaders

· Supporting strategic planning and business improvement initiatives

· Partnering with clients to identify opportunities to improve profitability, cash flow, operational performance and financial controls

· Liaising with external accountants and advisors in relation to statutory reporting, year-end financial statements and tax compliance

· Contributing to the development and mentoring of junior team members

About You

· CA or CPA qualification

· Proven experience in management accounting, financial analysis and financial modelling

· Strong commercial acumen and the ability to deliver meaningful business insights

· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work directly with business owners and senior leaders

· Highly developed analytical, problem-solving with strong attention to detail

· Advanced Excel skills and experience working with modern accounting systems

· Ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously and own outcomes

· A collaborative approach and a willingness to support and mentor junior team members

· Experience within mining, civil construction, labour hire industries will be highly regarded

· Experience working with multiple clients will be highly regarded

· A genuine interest in developing a career in commercial finance, advisory services and future CFO-level leadership roles
