Quality Assurance Engineer 12 month contract Full-time onsite work required - Brisbane CBD We are recruiting an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to step into a product led software environment working on complex, real-world technology platforms. This position suits a clear communicator with a strong automation mindset who enjoys collaborating across engineering, product and customer facing teams to deliver reliable, high value solutions used in operational environments. What you'll be doingOwning end-to-end test coverage for user stories and acceptance criteriaStabilising and uplifting existing QA and automation practicesEstimating testing effort for features and backlog itemsDefining test plans and maintaining quality test artefactsDriving adherence to QA processes and quality standardsBuilding and maintaining automated tests across UI, API and backendEnhancing automation frameworks including Cucumber-based solutionsEnabling continuous testing through CI/CD pipelinesExecuting regression, acceptance and exploratory testingSupporting test environments and test data managementCollaborating with engineers, product and customer stakeholdersChampioning a risk-based, shift-left approach to quality What you need to bring4+ years' experience in Quality Assurance and automation enabled testingStrong communication skills and confidence working in cross functional teamsA clear interest in automation with demonstrated experience building and maintaining automated test suitesExperience working in complex, product based software environmentsHands on exposure to automation frameworks (e.g. Cucumber, Playwright or similar)Working knowledge of Java and/or TypeScript/JavaScript (Python also beneficial)Experience testing microservices, REST APIs and cloud based platforms (AWS and/or Azure)Solid SQL skills for database and API testingStrong test design capability, including risk-based and exploratory testing approachesExperience working in Agile delivery environments with a clear understanding of SDLC and shift-left practices Bonus points forExperience building automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions)Exposure to RBAC, complex data scenarios and end-to-end system workflowsContributing to code reviews, quality gates and broader engineering practicesIdentifying and driving continuous improvement in QA capability and maturityStrong understanding of end user and customer centric testing approachesBackground in industrial, mining or other complex systems environments Important to knowThis role will require the successful candidate to work on site full-time 5 days per week.
